Turn 20, 3200 BC.

Research Agriculture (5)
Building worker (2)
no growth

warrior exploring to the NE sees this:

Decisions for next turn:
  • Preliminary discussion on what to research next
  • Which tile to work on first (2 turns to decide)
  • Exploration direction
  • let our MP warrior bust the fog to the S?

Warrior explores SE just to be sure it isn't the end of the land, and by gosh it's not. Plus there's a hut that way! :D

I posted a poll on what to research next, since we've just finished agriculture.

The incoming save is on the gmail, other than one click service any need to make a copy of it? It would be better for CFC if we don't clutter up the attachment or file space. ;)

Warrior approaches hut, it hasn't been taken by someone else yet.

Agriculture done, started fishing.

Worker due in 3, will irrigate the rice.

Next decision in 3 turns -- what to build after the worker?

Next decision in 6 (or fewer) turns -- research after fishing?

Warrior enters village, is given 50 pieces of gold.

There is a massive cluster of silks over there.

After hitting enter, borders expand, revealing the remainder of our penninsula

Nothing else to report.

well, I guess we should work to calendar fast, seeing all those resources.

I feel we should definatly pump out at least 2 settlers soon...

Worker due to complete this turn, will resume the warrior which was in the queue before we grew to size 3.

Warrior moved, land may continue a little more S over yonder.

Not much else to say this turn. Next turn our worker can move to the rice to start irrigating.

Worker moved to rice, to irrigate. Fishing in 3, then we can work the seafood.
Warrior exploring finds the land goes in at least two lobes from the silks area, E and S. Glancing at the S branch.

A bit of analysis:
We are last in score. This hints that our opponents either have more population in their capitals or has a small tech lead. Nothing too big yet, we should just keep an eye on the score board. Especially Epsilon who is leading with 93 points, compared to our 67 points.

One turn from fishing, then our score will improve. Worker starts irrigating the rice. Warrior finds the land mass to the east is pretty big.

I'm going to be away from tomorrow around noon until Monday evening. Anyone can go ahead and play it if it comes in. I think the tech choice should be between Animal Husbandry and the Bronze Working path. Next production should probably be a settler, so let's start discussing where a city would go.

I played the save, sent it off, forgot to grab a screen shot. Sorry! We'd had it for about twenty hours and hadn't played it yet, so I hope no one minds. Nothing spectacular to report: I sent the warriors onto the hill one tile to the SouthEast, they uncovered some more jungle, the corner of a river, and some more pigs.

We'll discover fishing next turn, and we'll have a lot of beakers spilling over into the new tech, so let's make sure we know what we want to research next!

Fishing is done, we need to decide what to research next.
Our warrior could go SW, SE, or NE. Anyone have a preference?
I assume we want to work the clams, right?

Any other input on this turn?

Here's the list of techs we can get next, and the number of turns for each:

Meditation - 9
Priesthood - 7
Pottery - 8
Sailing - 12
Hunting - 5
Mining - 7
Masonry - 9
Animal Husbandry - 12

I have mixed feelings about where we should go next. Animal Husbandry is good because we can link up the pigs now, and it reveals the location of Horses. I also feel like we should get Mining and Bronze Working soon, so we can know where the copper is when we're about to settle our 2nd city. Either way, I think Pottery can wait a little while - we won't really need it until we put a city on the floodplains (our capital is near water and has plenty of commerce already).

I'm going to lean towards Animal Husbandry: I'd like to get those pigs hooked up eventually!

Fishing completed, set to Animal husbandry.
Warrior moves NE, still not much to see.
Workforce set to clams, AH reduced from 12 to 10.

Tech tree

After animal husbandry I think we should research pottery. We'll need it to make cottages around our flood plain city, and we have all prerequisite techs making it relatively cheap to research (for anyone who doesn't know it, there is a significant bonus for reseachig techs when you know several of the techs prerequisites).
