Turn 50 - 1790BC

1. should Fanatazuma build a Javelin Thrower or a worker?
Worker. But settler would be a good idea as well, especially since we've already started a prebuild for SoZ and lost a productive city by that.

I think a orker would be ok, we were talking about this wirth Cheetah yesterday, but thought that it could be changed anyway, so continued on the JT...

2. What should Ryttylä build after the curragh?
Worker.

I agree on this. A settler would be good too, ,but the cty doesn't have currently enough growth or production to do this at even a decent speed, some of those grasslands need to be mined ASAP.

We must start building military in Fanatazuma. Warriors and JTs. To keep good relationship with C3B, our military should be at least average to their or better strong all the time. Military is a thing which cannot be built in one turn. It requires constant effort.

I agree. We must make full use of the barracks we just spent so many turns building. Some barb huts should be popping up soon and I would hate to see c3b getting all that nice cash to them selves. Lets give c3b a reason to want to have peace with us....

1. should Fanatazuma build a Javelin Thrower or a worker?
It has barracks, a vet jav is worth something, a vet worker isn't. It also allows Fanta to grow a bit more so it can then build settlers easier. Since we are going to irritate C3B a lot, why not build cities towards them?

2. What should Ryttylä build after the curragh?
worker

3. What should we do with the Northernmost warrior? Stay there or continue South?. Send him, with a friend, to the chokepoint. If no treaty further treaty is signed or a fair treaty is proposed by C3B send him north-west to scout further. Also get a jag up there for barb-farming.

Guys! We're making a big mistake!

I just checked the savegame.
Why in heaven's name are we (pre-)building the Statue of Zeus in Thunder Falls when that takes at least 50 turns, while it can be finished in Fanatazuma in less than 34 turns?! We can use Pyramids as alternative pre-build. Sure, they'll see we're building a wonder, but isn't it much more important that we have Statue of Zeus ready as soon as possible??

Secondly, why is luxury rate at 10% while that doesn't help a damn thing?

We also had discussion on this, but I forgot to add it to the discussion items.

So, I ask the people: should we build the SoZ in Fanatazuma instead?

I think this would be good. The reason we didn't change it was because everyone would see we're building it, but the Pyramids could be a good prebuild.

That must have been my mistake on the lux slider.

And here's the map, to avoid that anyone else will make a blunder like I did saying that C3B is near the Northpole. :o

I'm not quite sure what I would support but I figured I'd do some quick math.

If we were to use our capital to build the SOZ, and accounting for future growth, and if we were to use the next pop at our capital on the forest and if we mined one of the hills we could pop out the SOZ in approx 26 turns (We then would have to wait 5 turns before we get a single cav.) or we could build 6 veteran JW and 1 or 2 warriors in the same time period

Now the case could be made that we are going to need cav quickly to counter Immortals if we get attacked because we decided to go for writing as opposed to the wheel and then horseback riding so the earliest we'll have horsemen (If we even have horses) is approx 30 turns (Thats if we don't go for mapmaking after writing) so tack on at least another 20 turns there.

Just some rambling

Ok switch production to our capital and use the pyramids.

It would change when TF would grow in size including joining of some workers produced from Zoi. Our capital should be used for building more needed things like veteran military and workers/settlers. Do not try to fool the fellow citizens with numbers please, mister deputy.

I think akots also had a point. And I think other teams would come VERY suspicious if we suddenly at this stage started to build the Pyramids in our capitol... no secret anymore...

I upport akots' thinking here. The time won't be so different as TF will grow in a few turns, and will then have as good production as Fanatazuma... and if we join a few workers...

I am against building SoZ in the Capital. For several reasons:
1 - Other teams will notice. Remember C3B is already suspicious about Maths.
2 - Fanta has just produced barracks, it would be a complete waste not to use them.
3 - I don't want a border city (even if it is the capital) to build Important Wonders

I did not! It was more easy to calculate the maximum number of turns it would take in Thunder Falls, as well as the minimum number of turns in Fanatazuma. And those turns matter a lot!

Rik,
1 - Tough luck.
2 - True. But that doesn't outweigh the importance of a so much sooner built SoZ.
3 - If we'd loose Fanatazuma, we're as good as dead anyway.

I don't think it will come that much faster if we join a worker or two into TF.

Why don't we just take a vote and settle this...
