Turn 51 - 1750 BC

My suggestion for the worker team on the mountains: Dont build road on the gold hill - this will waste time, seeing there will be a city ther in 4 or so turns. Start a road NE of the gold hill, then N, then NE, then E onto the iron. Our forth city should be near there. I will attach an image.

That's a worthy effort GBM... but where should the 4th city go?

That should ultimately determine where the roads are placed, as we should emphasize building a road to the next site before building to the iron. This will allow the fastest travel to that destination for the settler.

The road will take you to wherever the next city will be - it better be adjacent to the iron, because we cant waste time on culture or workers on colonies.

The VERY BEST place to put a city would be directly east of the iron. Three bonus grasslands and a normal one, two forests, and the iron mountain all in it's radius.

I agree, dont build a road on the gold.

Anyway, for city #4, Directly east is the way to go.

May I suggest that our new cities in this mountain range be our second province?

I suggested a map on the provinces.

Here it is. I made the provinces small, as they are intended to merge towards the end. I based the sizes on the landform for easy reference, and the number of good cities it could hold. A province of 95% corruption would be very large, the capital province will consist of maybe four cities.

Edit: wrong pic, fix it soon
Edit: here it is :D

I have another one that is a little better, but in the spirit of not clogging up this thread, I'll post it in the Capital Province thread. Domestic, Please start a poll on these and any other proposals.

I like your first better (threadjacking. Sorry)

I think these proposed provinces are nice, but will end up with too few cities per province. Consider including the mountains with the original province.

As far as the east iron city location is concerned, the tile due east is not adjacent to fresh water, so an aqueduct will be required for that city to grow. Not a requirement, but something to consider...

I think GBM has a good idea with placing the city directly east of the iron. Its a good spot for a city, and a road will give us better access to BoP.

FortyJ, to get the eastern iron and have fresh water, there will not be enough food to grow beyond 6, let alone to 6.
