Surely, it was converted to taxman or scientist. At least I hope so. :)

I'm afraid I screwed up a bit there. It was still an entertainer when I saved the game. He's converted to a taxman now though.

People, it's a grand day today! We know how to Write! :D

We'll only need 14 turns to get map making.

I checked if we could build an embassy with C3B, but it costs 54 Gold.
Therefor I turned science down a bit for this turn only, to make sure we have 55 Gold next turn if we want to build an embassy.

We can of course get 25 Gold from a barbarian camp, but I feel it can be put to better use than that... :whipped:

In other news, we built a Warrior in Ryttylä. This huge buildup in our forces means that we once more have a strong military compared to C3B! :)

As you might have seen from the other screenshot, we are getting new Settlers in 1, 6 and 10 turns! :D
Where do we send them?

Here you can also see the Saxon camp. If they do not attack us, where shall we engage the enemy? :)

Nothing happened with us or C3B in world area or population this turn. However, we had a small increase on our graph on the Histographs Powergraph. Still, C3B gained more on us, and are only 2 points behind us.

Oh, and just before I closed Civ3, I saw a barbarian Galley northeast outside the Saxon camp...

Sounds fine. Where shall we settle the next cities? This should be discussed.

I still want to say that doing this without permission is a very bad idea. About the Barb camp, let's just wait a while a if another barb pops up let's attack him, and wait for another to pop up. This way we keep an unlimited supply of barbs.

Making an embassy withouit their permission is a bad idea, we should talk to them about it.

And a barb farm sounds useful:)

Only one barb in a barb camp? :hmm: Usually there are two in the beginning...

The only poor thing in those slaves we get is that they're only half the power comparedto normal workers and 1/3 of our own worker's efficiency...

There are two, though I'm a little reluctant to attack since the camp is on a hill. I would like them to attack our JT on the mountain, or wait until they are down on the plains.

This means another civ already got Map Making. This is why it is so cheap to discover.

We must think of sending our western curragh to the west of the iron island. Our immediate surroundings are of interest but establishing contacts is a top priority from the military point of view. I can just order it as a CoMA...

@Chettah. Yes, I also noticed the clown. :) And please, next turn attack the barb camp if nothing happens. Our chances to win on Emperor difficulty are over 75%.

I also have a few comments regarding micromanagement.

1) There are two workers mining BG near Rytty. One of them should have been busy improving tiles near TF building a mine near our capital on the way.
2) Zoi need population at least 4 for optimal growth. Hence, Zoi needs another MP to be moved in the city ASAP. The plan for this city is to work two cows, mined BG, forest, and other grasslands so that it can grow in 4 turns. This way, settler would be produced every 8 turns or even less than that.
3) We are terribly lacking MP in all cities. We need to produce some warriors ASAP. Next turn, since TF grows in size and lacks MP, we would need to increase luxury rate. We would be better off doing this this turn and allowing our capital to accumulate some food in the process. It might happen that a new citizen in TF would be turned to clown and would not yield any additional shields.
4) We have 4 units guarding nothing near tobacco. Just scouting? IMHO, 2 or maximum 3 would be enough. We are wasting huge money without MP in our cities.
5) We are essentially last in everything. Which is very sad. We are certainly much less powerful than C3B and everyone who played Civ3 knows, that thing in the power graf can get only worse but seldom improve.
6) Our northen city Cheetah...something has to be used to produce workers. We need to irrigate flood plains there to increase rate of population growth.

It might still be OK, but let's discuss these points though they seem rather evident to me. :)

To put it short, I don't think that we have any chance to win or go to finals with this weak gameplay. I'm no match for Bremp either, but still that would give us some chance. I'd like also to hear what Kuningas thinks on the matter and whether he can more actively participate in the gameplay. As well as Yndy - the one and only.

Hence, having a turnplayer of acceptable qualification NOW might be the only way to save the game while there is still chance. Look at this from the point of just hiring someone who does the things which our citizens want in the game but also does other things of which most of them have no idea but which are very important. Like minor details inclduing clowns and other point really "unworthy" of attention of our President who's authority nobody questions, or course. :)

That worker at the BG near Ryttylä was my mistake, sorry about that. :(

If people want a certain turnplayer, I nominate akots. :)

We have the save again, BTW...

If it is all right with the people (after all, I was elected) and we find a willing candidate, I would be ready to let a stronger player take over as CoIA. Is there any willing candidate? And does anyone have a problem with changing CoIA?

IMHO, this is a serious problem. The CoIA can stay as consul and take care of important issues including supervision of other Consuls and management of citizens and of this forum. Turnplayer is just a player who does not make important decisions. Also, I'm not sure what does the Constitution say on the matters and if it does, how it can be changed. IMHO, it would be better to have separate appointments for these two officers. Turnplayer can be considered as a general who is fired when the army loses even if it is not his fault. He is comfortable with this development and bears no guilt because he has done what he was told by CoIA.

@Cheetah: Since you were elected and there is no specific procedure for retirement before the term ends, you have to serve the term.

@Citizens: People, lets discuss this!

@Judge: What does the law say on the matters?

I say that we just have a good player as turnplayer. If something very weird happens, he shouldn't play the turn further, but report at the forums about this.

The Consuls and other citizens would tell what stuff to do, but the turnplayer could take care of MMing and minor details.

The turnplayer would be like a normal citizen who works for the government, he would no real governmental position.

The turnplayer should be:

- an active person here who knows the game well.
- a loyal person.
- an experienced civer.
- someone the people trust.
- someone who is able to check if the save is here at least once a day.

How about that?

The law says that the JotC picks the new minister of Internal Affairs, but I do not think he is active since I posted in his office thread a week or two ago and he still has not responded.

Anyways for however we pick the new MoIA, I would like to anounce that I would like to be the next, therfore I submit my candidacy

Sounds excellent. Can we have some discussion and then draft a law and then vote? As rapidly as possible?

Even though the turnplayer would be no government official, his opinion might still be sometimes important and he must report all actions taken during gameplay and ask particular questions when required as to what decisions must be made.

I can check the save usually twice daily and play within minutes. :)

This is a very good idea. Would someone (Cheetah, where are you? ;)) like to make a draft of a law which we could poll?

The CoIA should IMHO nominate the turnplayer.

I suggest you nominate akots, Cheetah. :)
