Rockaway Beach riots. It is 2 turns from a cath. Lux is turned down to 40% and we are at +42 gpt.

An archer is produced from Scarborough and heads north; the cat heads toward DSOTM where I guess it will fortify.

We are 6 turns from completion of Sistines/Leos. Which do we want (we would have to run lots of scientists to grab Leos in the 5 turns)? Someone needs to figure out which will be more beneficial goldwise, and whether we should switch to Republic soon post Education and how the decisions interact with each other (ie, will Sistines be greatly beneficial with Republic (+20% gold?).

Alright, thanks for the graphs. So by culture we'e winning for the full civ, but not by much. Rockaway Beach rioted, did you quell it? Or will you have to do that next turn? I'd say put an entertainer there for the 2 turns till the cathedral.

As far as Sistine/Leo, would it be proper to start a poll thread to see what people think?

Well, it appears that the Axis of Dirtbags, "AoD" from here on out, is going to get us to Education and then swap the lower tier.

How about a message to them "Screw us out of the lower tier and we'll be really, really.... bothered!

If we had any units Leo's would be kewl but Sistines lasts till the end of time and makes our cathedrals party central. I'll try and do some calcs but that's going to be a problem because I'm also doing some tequila.

Let's see if we can barter Invention out of the AoD in short order to give us a choice. I really don't want to research while we're sitting on the Great Gong Lib.

While a whole-heartedly good atempt has been made, it is quite obvious that you two are going to force us into gaining educational knowledge that will make it so we do not need the library anymore. While not any encroachment onto any treaties we have established, it is very unliked to attempt to manipulate the Gong gang. Basically this whole message from us to you boils down to this:

Sistines is ok for me, no calc's done. A Galley for coverage of the show would be entertaining. Nate's letter was fun and well written, but I suggest we stay cool on rattling with swords since we don't have any. I'd prefer us to have a neutral position in the AoD camp for the time being. We thought AoD was swapping techs like mad and gambled on the GLib. Turns out we were wrong. It happens. It's still a nice cult build. I wouldn't risk messin' up any foreign relations over it.

I keep pulling for Leos since otherwise we are kind of set on a path of the cheesy win (block off coast). Leos at least gives us some military punch to run around whacking people, my preferred method of travel. And it is wonderful for gold conversion/having a fast military. If Sistines, at least we can whip an army and it not cost us as much (100 archers in 3 turns is pretty good!).

I too feel that a nice military to thump people over the head would be nice, but from what I understand...we don't have one. No need for a wonder that isn't going to help. Are we even going to thump anyone?

Remember, Sistines is going to be available to us for a long time to come. It would be nice to rip Leo's away from the AoD. We are becomeing rather proficient at wonder snatching.

I think we need to do some calcs.

OK... lets look at Sistines...
In our current state each 10% on the Entertainment slider is 15g and we're at turn 122. Assuming the game goes another 120 turns that's 1800g for each 10% of Entertainment.

Currently it's taking a minimum of 30% to keep Sugar Mountain and DSOTM out of rioting w/ our current level of luxury goods. However, w/ a cathedral, that's yet to be built, we would only need to run at 10%. The cathedral doubling affect (3x2 = 6 content) would be overkill.

Also, we will eventually get to the point where we're sharing luxes w/ Babe (and Saber if I get my way ) which would take care of the last 10%. And if it didn't a market would be a better addition.

Now, Sistines would certainly make us all but immune to war weariness and whipping fatigue but that wears off over time and can normally be handled on a city by city basis. Then again, I think there's only about 5 cities where Cane hasn't pulled out the whip.

It looks to me that Sistines has a value on the order of 1800g.

Leo's....
Well, let's take the simple route. 1800g is what we would save by upgrading 40 warriors to MI. (1800/(90/2) = 40)

Damn! It looks like justifying Leo's whether we go all medieval on anyone is pretty damn easy to do.

So, do we want to try and cheat Invention out of AoD w/ an outright lie and bogus treaty or do we want to maintain honor and research it ourselves?

You know, I joined this game to kick some butt. I think a space race game is great, but if your playing against humans who are just as sneaky, I really just want to declare and see who has the better skills. I would be perfectly alright with bsing them, we just gotta watch it if we don't want to get education, if we slip up they could just trade it really quickly and kick us back a little bit.

Is it just me, or ae alot of people not participating? I was told i was the 18th person to join this team, but it seems more like about 7.

And Participation runs in spurts. My current spurt has lasted about a month after taking a break of about 2 days.

Well we can certainly build Leos; we just have to get to Invention in a a few turns. Let me look and see how it can be done.

Yeah we can definitely get Invention in 5, timed to complete with Leos (eh, nm, cant switch the build midturn so we need it in 4 turns, we cant do this currently). We need a couple hundred gold probably from the BABEs.

The council is going for Copernicus for sure, they must be near astronomy by now, i doubt they want Leo´s, they have military from Statue of Zeus...

We should try and secure a trade for horses in a near future, the Leo´s plus Cavalry upgrade would be super....Babe must have 2 horses by now....
