I recently watched a video from Joshua????? where he took someone's broken, unfocused game and made it better. It got me thinking it would be nice if someone did a series of instructional videos. An example would be economy. The video would show how to have a strong economy while going for different VC and under different circumstances such as the entire world hates you or isolated start or huge military. Another example could be about culture while going domination or culture VC from an isolated start.

I know the great LP player videos are great but they usually lack in explanations and particularly examples. Such as, I did this because..... if the game was like this though I would have done this and here's how these two directions would have panned out. You have to watch lots of regular LPs to see that adaptive thought by comparing and of course the viewer has to understand enough to recognize how and why the strategies were adapted.

Anything out there like this? I think it could be a huge help especially for mid level players trying to fine tune and learn how to adapt on the fly to up their difficulty level.

Just watch SBFMadDjinn videos on YouTube?
He explains mostly everything he does, why he does it, and what alternatives there are to the actions he have chosen. Calm, nice and I use headphones since his voice makes my wife look weird...

Moriarte1982 is another one. Slower, more thoughtful, and maybe a better player, but sometimes misses to explain wth he is doing. And he settles his cities on Lux Resources. God knows why.

Good old favourite Polish player Marbozir is also very nice to watch. Completely crazy and sometimes you wonder if he is actually drunk, but hes an OK player and also explains a lot. And a lot of fun to hear talking with that insane dialect! I just love him.

Its a shame shenryyr2 doesnt make Civ 5 videos, since thats one of the best strategy gamers around... maybe someone can convince him...?

hell, you can even pick up something from ElceePlaysCiv if you're quick enough to hear him speak. The guy is probably on crack while playing but there aren't many people around who can beat him in pure military tactical abilities. Excellent if you want to see how to move your troops around. His Poland Lets Play is a disaster though when it comes to city placement... Skip that one...

The first half is very informative. The second is mostly focused on military strategy. He pretty much slaughtered his way through 2 civs with artillery. Unfortunately he stopped at the third who was equal in tech, which I think would have been a better domination lesson than the previous hour. It wasn't his game though so I certainly understand why he didn't want to deal with that slog.
