A sequel to Theme Hospital will be released at the end of this month.

I don't see any great difference to the original but that is a good thing.

I imagine if this is successful other elements will be added to two point county.

Yes ive been keeping my eye on this. And have seen some pre release footage showing the mechanics of the game. It seems virtually identical to theme hospital but with a new lick of paint and a few new ideas brought over from rogue like games. So im going to go out on a limb and say that it cant really be a bad game providing it works and plays virtually the same as the original - as IMO the original was virtually flawless. And it is still perfectly playable today and has not aged badly at all due to the cartoony art style. They haave gone in at an interesting price point as well. Its sort of half way between indie and a full priced game. Which to me (not having played it) seems about right i reckon. Unless its mindblowing its the sort of game that, as i have played the original to death, i will almost certainly get. But im a bit on the fence about getting it at release. Think ill wait and see how its launch goes first.

I’m quietly looking forward to this. As others have said there isn’t much they need to improve on with the core Theme Hospital experience– the biggest problems with that would be a slightly clunky interface, an uneven difficulty curve and a few tediously repetitive issues (norovirus, anyone?).

The interface looks glorious, with some neat quality-of-life features added. I’ll see what the reviews say about the rest (who wouldn’t), but I can see myself picking this up soon.

Did anyone get this?

I’m a few hours in and really enjoying it. It very much feels like Theme Hospital 2, which is exactly what I was hoping for. An improvement in nearly every area, with the familiar formula intact.

The interface is much better, information is presented in a much more manageable way, with heatmaps for temperature, appearance, etc. Staff have a bit of extra depth to their personality and qualifications, with training more relevant for steadily improving your workforce. You can unlock new items for your rooms and corridors to improve patient happiness, hospital prestige and treatment effectivity.

It looks lovely as well, with characterful animations and the constant level of gentle humour works nicely.

There’s also a better feeling of progression, and being able to go back to old hospitals and improve them for a higher rating is a nice feature. It maybe seems a little easier than Theme Hospital, but I think that’s down to the more readily visible information, and me having gotten better at running virtual hospitals over the years.

I bought it but I haven't played much of it yet.
I like the new training system and think it will have more depth than the first version.

I like that the animation and humour hasnt changed.

My back catalogue has got silly again, so ive said no more games till i have finished at least half of them - so this misses out for now. I have been keeping an eye on it though, and from what i have seen it looks exactly like you have said.

Currently my back catalogue is:

Witcher 3
Mad Max
Prison break
Dying Light

Ive started Prison break and Mad Max, but want a nice amount of time put aside for Witcher 3, seeming as i was waiting for what seems like ages for a decent sale to come along. And when it did i was embroiled in other things.

So basically when it goes on sale ill get it. Thats kind of how it goes with gaming these days. So many games, so little time to play them.

When I finish my project Tomb Raider, I am going to get his. I like the character design here. Reminds me of Wallace & Gromit animations.
