1) Is it possible to play (win) OCC game at Emperor in Civ1? If yes - is it easy?

2) Is there any nice tech tree for civ1? (looking nice like original tech trees for civ3 or civ4, for example, without those many many arrows)

1) It´s possible to win Civ1 on any level. (With some practice it is relatively easy.)

2) I believe one is in the manual yes. P. 129 (Unfortunately missing in my - very used - copy...) But if I´m not very mistaken you can see it in-game too.

1) Is it relatively easy even for one city challenge? I quess "We love King day" rules...))

2) In my old version there is no any tech tree. Unfortunately.
But where can I find the manual?

Could you describe briefly the strategy for OCC on emperor?
I quess it involves some wonders, especially in isolation.

And one more question: is the tech tree in civ similar in all vestions?
The first two links differ from each other and from the tech tree in the game.

Winning the game on emperor is pretty difficult, it involves a heavy expansion strategy in the BCs, under depotism expand to at least 20 cities, research as quickly as possible to get republic or democracy, then shoot for religion to build J.Bachs Cathedral. From there the game is all down hill and you can outproduce and out expand against the computer.

As for getting villages early on, I found getting a villages with barbarian hoards were vastly unproductive and damaging to my civilization, I think getting a village with a city and a unit is outranked than getting a village with barbarians. The barbarians end up destroying more than the village city and units, it perhaps would be better off not getting any villages.

However entering a village within a city's radius won't give a hoard of barbarians I found out, so that would eliminate the problem.

1) Expand to 20 cities under despotism
2) Research to and change to a republic ASAP
3) Research to and build J.Bachs Cathedral ASAP
4) Game is all downhill from there, especially after researching railroad and further expanding, building, and leaving all the AI opponents in the dust.

Yes yes yes. I had done it) With many cities the emoeror level isn't a problem. I'm pretty sure I could win it in 99% cases.

Now I would like to win it with just one city, without technology trading, and by space.
That why I asked for the tech trees. I'll try to make a plan, involving a couple of world wonders and beelining for a couple of techs.

How do you win Emp with OCC? I can beat Emp normally, usually by being hyper-aggressive early on -> seems like thrashing one civ early one lets you get 4-5 techs and a good number of decent cities, possibly a wonder or two.

With OCC I beat Chieftain and Warlord, lost in Prince. I guess its basically do crazy tech-ups and then... what? The AI likes to be stupid and build cities right up to yours too. If I take them its a long process to de-settle them.

Well, I just beat the Prince OCC and lost King OCC.

I see only one solution at this moment to beat Emperor OCC. Caravans.

1) At first you should choose a good place (even if it takes 10-20 turns)
2) Then you should go fastly for Monarchy/Republic and build Collossus
3) Also you should beeline for Trade

4)* Then you should try to grab Copernik Observatory, Newton Colleage and Shakspear Theater (and do some We love the president day)
5)* Then beeline for Railroad

After electonics and electricity it will be difficult to make science only with the city's help. So you need some trade routes and a large amount of caravans. When they establish a trade route they receive a single bonus as well (money and science together?)
It's possible to buy (using the trick of incremental rushbuying) one caravan per 100-150 per turn. So, if your city is large enough, and if AI's city large you receive large sums.

But...for this strategy you shouldn't be isolated. Otherwise you must be on coastal line (which is not good for one city)...

For many cities: It's possible to win Emperor building strategy even without trading with. The key moment for this - we love the president day for a group of cities. It's enough about 8-10 cities. Even less may be...
