Hello,

I'm a french player of RFC, and i tried RAND few weeks ago and loved it.:goodjob:

I'd like to end games with historical victory, but unfortunately i got a french Civ and in RAND i don't got the UHV in english, so i got the Classical RFC UHV only.
So i don't know what they are.

Is it possible to do an UHV copy of RAND on this forum or on the wiki for non-english players? :)

Thanks a lot.

so you need to someone to get out a French version of the UHVs? I should be able to do that, though my French is a bit rusty. I could at least try.

I could also do a German version, which for me would be a fair bit easier.

edit: are they documented elsewhere? working from inside the game is a bit more tedious.

ok, I think I have the French and German translation complete and good. however, the files provoke an error when I try to start the game, which is probably because I edited them in open office calc. I hope it's nothing too hard to fix, probably just some wrong break or sth at the start. I'd correct it, but I have no idea how, though I'd help if instructed.

content wise, most is fine. ony, I just could not find any French term for land mass, so I used continent for now. does that make a difference or are continents and land masses the same as far as the program goes?

otherwise, well, a french native (hint: Nalim) might have a look at to make sure it's all correct and intelligible; maybe he finds some better formulation somewhere.

I suppose the error is due to the inverted commas at the beginning and the end of the lines. You can remove them with a plain text editor, or use an xml editor (a lot of them is freeware).

yeah, that was the problem. I figured it would be something like that, but I'm rather illiterate in that regard.

I corrected the files and tested them, they work nicely. Though if I use the editor I could fix the german capital characters after period points that excel always messed up. I'll try to get that done later this week. I really need to go.

so, for those who need it, have fun with the almost complete translation.

Thank you all for your replies and especially Shadowhal.

I've corrected some files in french that you've done, i changed some words like "radius" in "rayon" or "de la capitale" instead "du capital" :)

Really nice work, thank you a lot ! :goodjob:

ah, viribus unitis ad victoriam venimus. thx for your control too Nalim.

though some of that french could use refinement. anyway, I worked out those last bits in the german part, where the original excel work would force capital letters, where they were not supposed to be. so ... I guess that should be it.

I still have v. 1.14 of rand running (have not update civ to 3.19 yet, other game still running), but I did not see a hint in the change log that victory conditions were changed, only I think the algorithm to control them.
