I just started a game next to a volcano one my first turn it blew up and ended my game, but i won with an astonishing amount of points and the best rating possible how weird is that!

The devs don't visit the Civ3 forums much anymore.

IIRC, the bug is caused because the Human player goes first in the turn order. You had built a city (which got destroyed) but nobody else had actually built theirs, yet. So you had *started* to generate score, and nobody else had. Since the game ended on the first turn, the "early win" bonus kicks in big-time.

Thus: You have points, nobody else does == you win.
You won on the first turn == huge bonus points.

Well, it's a bug in that it doesn't check all the necessary conditions for a "win". Face it, if you get wiped out on the first turn, you didn't really win.
