I posted this in the bug report thread a couple days ago but was not answered.

I recently downloaded ver 2.91 and installed everything properly that I am aware of (deleted the earlier ver of RoM2, etc). My problem is that I am unable to start up the 32 civ Carter earth scenario (fixed civ locations) - it gets to about halfway initialized at the loading screen, then displays a runtime error. (Edit; none of the carter earth maps work).

It reads; "Runtime error!Program:...er's Civiliztion 4/Beyond The Sword/Civ4BeyondSword.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."

Don't know if this is important, but it reads in the header of this message "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"

Can anyone help me fix this issue?

Get a better system. Yours is too weak for a gigantic map. Don't worry, mine is, too.
But I can play the huge earth 18/28 civ scenario. That's fun as well.

What version of the base Civ IV game do you have? If you have the latest Civ IV 1.6 patch you might need to go back to 1.09 patch.

I don't think this is the issue. I bought my computer only a year ago and it was top of the line :):):):) at that point. Also I am able to run all of the GEM scenarios/maps no problem. In fact, I'm currently playing a 28 civ huge map well into the modern era and everything is running fine.

As far as I know I'm using the latest patch. What would going back to 1.09 do, technically that would solve the issue?
