unexplaind crashing

In civ 4 I get wierd unexplaind crashing. It occurs sometimes when I clik on something. It sends me back to the desktop and occurs in the multiplayer lobby in single player and in a multiplayer game. I have an AMD Atholon 1.5 gHz, 512 megs of ram, Windows 2000, and an ATI Radion 9200. Thanks in advance!

This seems to be a common problem. I haven't heard of a fix yet.
