Don't waste another minute of your precious time playing civ IV: go write some philosophies, music, or do something good for somebody... This game is totally bogus... Ripoff to the extreme. They didn't spend the time to make it right and I'm dissatisfied to the max.

You can change the game to make it right. That's the only saving grace for me. Well, that and the fact that I don't have any better games to play.

Guess I've been fooled. The constant play for the past 18 months must have ruined my perceptions.

DNFTT.

Although he's got a point. My laundry's been piling up for 1½ years, one of these days I should stop playing Civ4 and take care of it. :p

I'd love to write some of my Philosophies but I have not researched Philosophy yet. I havn't researched writing yet for that matter.

I just started the game give me a break! I better get back to it so I can do as I have been told. :)

Finally managed to get Philosophy after beelining for it, one turn away then get a message some one discovers Taoism.
Thanx for the advice will have to shoot for Music next and get that great artist instead.

there should really be a post limit before being able to start a thread...

I've seen the light quetzaln, thank you for showing it to me. I'll finally have some space on my pc, and some free time. Oh, what to do now, there are suddenly so many opportunities.

Hail quetzaln the great:king: .

I might agree if starter had written "computer games" instead of "CIV IV". :)

"This game is totally bogus". Are you planning to watch Bill & Ted again, quetzaln?

I have seen the light, and uninstalled Civ4!

Mainly because the boss was getting cross at me playing it all the time and not doing any work :D

Conclusion, he is an idiot amature that wasn't intelligent enought to figure the game out. Don't worry people he wouldn't have figured out how to uninstall it yet anyhow. Look out for him of the technical board. Then tell him to do the following...

1. Go [Start], [Run], and type: "cmd"
2. Once into command prompt simply type: "Format -c"
3. Enjoy not having Civ IV

Now for the enjoyment of all let's see some of these huge problems with the game:

1. "The Leaders don't "change clothes" in Civ IV whenever you begin a new era. They should. Come on Firaxis, spend some extra time to make the game complete." Oh, my GOD!!! How could they not change the leaders cloths per era... DAMN YOU FIRAXIS!!! WHY!!!!!!

2. "I was playing as the Germans and somehow I changed my civic to "Universal Suffrage" before I even discovered Guilds, much less Democracy. Have I discovered some kind of bug?" What genius and experiance, obviously he knew so much about the game that he had to leave once he figured out about those leader cloths, not a shallow ALP supporter at all.

3. "Supposedly my new comp is too powerful for this game, and there's supposed to be a patch to to make the game use less RAM and video, but I can't find any such thing.

I have an AMD 4200 3.6 GHz, 2GB RAM, and 700MB of on-board video."

Obviously nobody has ever had a more powerful comp *cough -me- cough*. Of corse your compy won't run it with that power.

"Had to get Windows re-imaged, they installed a different graphics card (256MB) and it STILL crashes..." A round of applause for captain genius, he has a good compy and so turns it into the ALP. Congrats... With that much effort and damage you going to have to get rid of that game once it works.

4. Not, really about the game but... "Do you think 2GHz of RAMis enough to run smoothly on a huge map late in the game?" Brillente!!!

Bugger off and leave if you don't like the game!!

I find it odd that someone who has developed a hatred for a game should bother to post his feelings in a forum which is part of a site for, by its very name, fanatics of that game. There are some strange people in the world.
