Sword, I've seen some of Kal-el's sketches, and I've been impressed. However, since he's in Navy boot camp for the next few months, somebody has got to fill in for him.
And you're right about the whole equal opportunity thing. Still, I'm one of appearantly very few people who're lobbying for more gender diversity in the game. Also, since the entire FF series has had women in prominent roles in all but maybe the first game, that's also why I'd use this as a unit for my FF mod.
Another reason is that in the CFC users mod, my civ is based on a country in a fantasy story I'm writing (my user name is the name of the main charachter), that's set in an altenate universe, where many things are similar or the same as our earth, but there are also many differences. For one thing, orcs, oni, youkai, halflings, tengu, and elves are all real, and magic and other supernatural powers are more predominant. In this country, the main chararcters love intrest/occasional professional rival and sparring partner is a girl name Sakura Tanaka who, at the age of 16, became the leader of the most powerful ninja clan in the country (the main character is the leader of the most powerful ronin group, which is why they were occasional professional rivals). When they're both hired by Eiji Minamoto to expose the king's evil plot, they team up and eventually overthrow the king (Sakura duels the king mano-a-mano, since the king was resonsible for killing her family). After all the fighting, they get married, but even as queen, she maintains the leadership of her ninja clan, which becomes the ultra-elite special forces of the country. The Seiryu kingdom, unlike many other asian nations (both in the real world and my alternate one) gave women a far more equal status. Of course that would only be prudent, when the ruler's wife is one of the few people in the country who could defeat him in single combat (armed or unarmed).

This soldier represents the modern age version of the Arashi-tai, Sakura's ninja clan.
Well, that was kinda long-winded, but I hope that clears some things up.
