can anyone explain to me why the AI can build an ungodly amount of priests with only 1-2 cities. i had a game a while back where the elohim had 98 priests with only owning 2 cities, and in the game I'm in now the ljosafar have over 120 priests of leaves with only 3 cities. that's 120 tigers a turn while im attacking the cities. not to mention the sheer time it take to watch the summon animation every turn 120 times! how are they affording this? (deity play, standard map, no settlers, normal speed)

p.s. they have the regular units too, rangers, champions, assassins. just not in mass like the priests.

The AI gets more free units.... because it can't handle them as good as a human player. Also, their units gain experience over time (so don't wonder when the AI invades you with tons of lvl 5 units - not only priests!....)

AI units do not gain experience over time. But Deity AI can build units cheaper

does anyone know the exact numbers on the % rate of build time on deity or even the maintenance costs. cause i dont think that there is any maintenance costs.

They do not gain experience over time, but higher level AI seems to have their units start with a large amount of EXP. On Emperor most AI units seem to start out with Combat II, and on Immortal they have ungodly amounts of Combat III units.

From Civ4handicapInfo.XML:
Code:

            <iAICreatePercent>75</iAICreatePercent>
            <iAIWorldCreatePercent>75</iAIWorldCreatePercent>
            <iAICivicUpkeepPercent>75</iAICivicUpkeepPercent>
            <iAIUnitCostPercent>75</iAIUnitCostPercent>
            <iAIUnitSupplyPercent>50</iAIUnitSupplyPercent>
            <iAIUnitUpgradePercent>10</iAIUnitUpgradePercent>
