Unit pics

Okay, this is probably going to sound like a stupid question: but what program would you suggest using to edit the unit pics? I've tried it with Paint, but whenever I do that, then open the game using those pics, it just crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One of the easiest programs to use is Paint Shop Pro, which you can get a free trial version at www.jasc.com.

Look at some of the more unsavory sites around the internet and you might be able to find free, non-trial versions of Paint Shop Pro v7.
