Hey, Can somone make a unit conversion possibly either the German MG-42 or the American 30. into a British machine gun. I need it for a mod that im making which turns Harry Turtledoves "American Front" alternative History novel into a Civ 3 game. For those of you who havnt read it, it is an awesome read. Turtledove is the master of "what if" history, in this case, how would WW1 be different had the South won the states war? apparently the USA would have faught on Germanys side! As im now on this conversation i'd like to know what people think of the idea. So far i have the map which is similar to the Age of Exploration map, except it continues on into Russia a little bit, includes all of the East African front, and the Pacific, namely eastern Austrailia and New Zealand, Japan and Western Russia. So far ive decided to grant Austrailia, Canada, South Africa there own nation status rather than relegated to members of the empire (Britain still occupies all the Sudan, Egypt, Rhodysia etc but i decided that they need to be independant or Britain goes broke in the first few turns), though i cant decide whether New Zealand should be independent. My reasoning for only Eastern Australia to be on the map, and only North Island for the Kiwis is that otherwise Australia tends to then have the same power as the USA which isnt to accurate (No pun intended for an alternative history scenario). Otherwise, the scenario will take some time to do as im having to fit in around my Uni work. Also, alot of the units im using are those of W.I.N.T.E.R.S so i'd like to thank him in advance.

I think someone started a thread or 2 in the past on maybe making a Harry Turtledove mod...I don't know if anything ever came out of it, but it might be something to look into to get other peoples ideas too.
