unit upgrade question

Hey folks

I have been trying every thing but something to do a mass upgrade on my riflemen to mech infantry.... I know it can be done, but I can't find out how.

I'd appreciate any help, my finger is killing me from soo much clicking..

type the letter "U" to upgrade a unit (= keyboard shortcut for hitting the upgrade button with your cursor)
Hold "Shift" and then type "U" will upgrade all units of the same type.

To upgrade a unit, it must be inside a city with baracks!
Make sure you have the strategic resources needed to make the units you want to upgrade to!
If you don't have enough gold the mil advisor will tell you.

When you perform the mass upgrade, any units not inside baracks, or not in towns connected to the needed resources, will be passed.
