We are working on finalizing the unit lines, but right now there are a few glaring omissions.
A Dwarf Settler -- I'm sure a lot of the fantasy mods could use this unit as well.
An Easterling -- Tolkien gives us very little to go with in terms of physical descriptions of the easterners. This is about all I have been able to dig up:
"Not tall, but broad and grim, bearded like dwarves, wielding great axes. Out of some savage land and in the wide East they come, we deem." - The Siege of Gondor.
In another letter Tolkien describes the Easterlings: "short and broad, long and strong in the arm, and grew much hair on the face and breast; their locks were dark as were their eyes, and their skins were sallow or swart. But they were not all of one kind, in looks or in temper, or in tongue. Some were not uncomely and were fair to deal with; some were grim and ill-favoured and of little trust."
This, coupled with the fact the Easterlings are composed of many tribes and inhabit a land approximately the size of Asia gives us a lot of flexibility. Mongol type units have been employed in a number of the unit lines as well as others, but we are clearly lacking a good 'Tolkienesque' unit for the easterners. Swarthy axemen with beards are not exactly leaping out at me.
So! To best describe the unit I am looking for -- He resembles a mongol or hun in look and manner but has a large axe and a noticeable beard. Hope that makes sense and I hope if this unit is created others will find a use for him as well!
Thanks!
Erin
