One will put the gif version in at some stage later.
And it looks Hornetish to moi, or at least on the ways. Needs a slightly longer fuselage in proportion, and the angle of the wings needs to just straighten a tad. And the white tanks nearest the fuselage need to be moved out slightly, and those furthest out either disappear, or replaced with far thinner and smaller variants. The tail also needs a little change of angle.
As it is, one wanted to get a Hornet that was in a similar style to the good pics of Soviet and US fighters out there, in the right proportion and manner. In my opinion, the few Hornet pics that are out there are quite ...bland...

Which is a pity, as they are a widespread aircraft, particularly in the US Navy carrier battle groups of now and in the future, and thus an essential feature in my view, of scenarios which are in the time period 1985-2005+. Such as perhaps a different version of Red Storm Rising (see note 1), a Desert Storm scenario (see note 2), a latter end of the Cold War scenario, a post Cold War scenario, etc, etc.
And as one said, one does not have good old MS Paint or any such programs, and talk of formats is in a jargon one does not know. The only means one has is changing things pixel by pixel with the scenario tools, and one can't seem to get the background colours for that.
Note 1: The second version of this is much improved from the first, but in my view it does employ the wrong map. It gives vast amounts of empty space back in the hinterland of the USSR, Central Asia, and even Pakistan. This is not a building and expansion scenario, so this space does not have a purpose. At the same time, at the other end of the map, the Atlantic, one of the key battlegrounds, is fairly narrow, and the US is a small addendum. A somewhat different map, which has its right edge at the Caspian, and uses that space for the Atlantic, and just a little more of the Americas, would fit the premises of the scenario better. As for how to do this surgery on a map, I know not.
And further, there are a few units that are somewhat surplus to requirements, such as both types of AWACS, SR71s and Spy Satellites. These all have the same purpose, the AI can't use them, and the human player will not find a lot of use for them, and they duplicate each others purpose. Just evil musings.
Note 2: There is a lot of potential in the idea of this scen, and certainly an interesting balance could be found between the two versions so far, incorporating a lot of the good modern units out there.
