Altho the Pyramid would be all too powerful if this was really a good strategy, I still have to ask...

How much would choosing universal suffrage right after getting the pyramids (say first 10% of the game) disrupt the AI players (constant unhappiness)?

Emancipation is the civic that makes the other civs unhappy, and it's a Labor Civic. Doesn't come with the Pyramids. Cause you're right, being able to seed dissent among your opponents from the Ancient Era to the late Industrial would be incredibly powerful.

Talking of Universal Suffrage, how do you hurry production using gold?

I have a shedload of money and seriously need to buy some military units, but I can't figure out how to actually hurry production! Arggh!

in the city screen right next to the build area are some buttons where you can use it. If you are capaple of rshing with gold it should highlight red around the edge

Ahh, excellent, thanks!

As it happens I finally noticed that amongst the orders you can give older military units are upgrade orders, at a price - I finally converted some old archers and stuff into machine gunners - perfect city defence!

Thanks, though.. I'll definitely be needing the cash hurry!
