Maybe it's stupid, but I have two armies made with tanks. When discover Modern Armor I upgrade every tank, but I can't do it with the ones into the army.
I try to upload it to upgrade and reload but I have no option.

That's because all units in an army are non-upgradeable.

no you can't, altho that might be a good idea for my mod, what do you guys think, should i allow it or not??

Thanks.
Then, another question: can I unload the members of an army?
I'm not using a recent path and I don't know if that is the reason.
I've given my armies the ability to unload in the editor, but it doesn't work.

gerard, you can't upgrade, unload..., though do remember pentagon. :D

actually we have had many threads on this, one reason for that is the game could be unblancing when modern armor comes around. :D

What is the need of an army before MA? Unless you want to get your first army victory to build a Epic and Military Academy, otherwise, the cost of building an army vs. the amount of time you can use it is not worth the effort. If this is part of a grand strategy please let me know.

I build armies out of defensive units (like infantry) as often. Also to field enough to build the Pentagon. ;)

Sometimes, I build armies and save them till I decided what to load onto them.

The pentagon is pretty useful in this aspect. You can load an additional unit into your armies. In that way you can update them a little: an army with 3 war elephants and one mechanized infantry is quite a defender (and still has the same movement range)

Tanks and modern armor are different in this aspect though, because those units ought to attack multiple times per turn.

I don't load them until I get MA or MI, you can still build a pentagon even if you have 3 unloaded armies.
