Unoffical Offical CFC Minecraft Server -- World 3

Let me make this perfectly, 100% crystal clear.

The ONLY valid targets for pvp is the war mechanic -- nations vs nations. THAT IS IT. The towny plugin is suppose to PROTECT towns. Any damaged block in a town that is not in a nation vs nation war WILL be treated as a bug exploitation (which it is) and WILL be treated as greifing.
 
Just a note then, as last night Captain2's ship was robbed and one of his cannons was taken even though it is fully within town boundaries. So, not being able to take anything from a town does not necessarily work.

Last night Emerald Isles was given an ultimatum by Port Geoff, we did not accede to their demands and thus we the "or else" clause which we (EI) thought meant war. We then attacked their ship and I then started destroying their cannons on the port side (the side facing us).
 
Well I don't blame Emerald Isle for doing it considering the conflict but they shouldn't have been able to. Something must have bugged out.
 
Yeah I spent a good 10 minutes later on making sure the ship was in our town, it is and was. Captain2 and I can't do anything to any other town (nor do we really want to destroy your homes. Fortifications would be fairgame in war but not homes).

Anyway the damage was reverted, and a large neon note taken on the war only if nation vs nation rule (fair enough).
 
If you stop with the demands you can have the iron blocks back (when I can log in of course).
 
Or they could found a nation for themselves. That might not go to well with the pirate theme though.
 
Ok... I'm not "playing stupid" or anything here, but what happened? I wasn't on during this "battle" thing. I just want to say/ask two things:

1.) remake20 originally wanted to declare war on Knoid because he did not like their original location. They have since moved (AFAIK) so that was cancelled and there were no further plans for any war of any kind.
2.) So, Mo stole iron from Port Geoff? Well, I didn't know about this and I'm guessing no one else in EI did which seems to make it a foolish reason to declare war on a whole town instead of just asking the thief to return it. Again, I wasn't online at that time, but that's what I understood from reading this thread.

No need to worry about playing stupid, its entirely fine to ask questions if you're confused.

Well that explains the confusion yesterday, and is entirely separate from what happened. Nor did a majority on either side want war (or so it seems).

No idea why Remake has a problem with Knoid, it was almost entirely underwater and not taking up any of Emerald Isle's land.

Well okay apparently a lot happened after I logged off last night. I suggest we give the iron back ASAP and try and live in peace.
 
How does a nation win a war?

And what's wrong with Knoid? It's quite a ways off from EI.

You can't control the Z layer of towns AFAIK, and before Knoid, even Aquatis was taking up part of EI's land because of that. Normally I wouldn't mind, but since you can't build in other towns' land, we wouldn't be able to build on our island because Aquatis used to be underneath that. If I'm thinking of the right town, Knoid just filled up the space Aquatis was in when fuzbal quit and Remake didn't want them spreading closer to us or something. No big deal though because I guess they moved.
 
I'm not very familiar with the war mechanic, it would be up to you guys to test it.

Also, I got reports there was additional heavy duty theft going on. I quite simply do not have the time to baby sit you guys. I no longer trust this community to manage itself in an adult manner.

For this reason I am going to turn off the server and leave it off for the rest of the night. When it comes back on tomorrow I will not be lifting the bans for another 24 hours, at least.

I did not make this server to be your baby sitter.
 
Ah well, the server has been down most of the day, along with Minecraft.net.
 
This is just my opinion, but if you want war, go play MOBA's or something.

As for stealing blocks, grow up people. Someone has usually spent hours building something neat and you have no right to go and dismantle their work.

I agree with this. I play on this server because it's fun to make the towns and fight monsters with friends. I know I would hate if my house, or anything I made, was destroyed and I'm guessing other people would too. I would be okay with PVP battles in a Spleef-like arena, but I don't want people going around destroying everything.
