If you build a nether gate with a sign on it, with a sign that looks like this:

<line1 empty>
gatename
hell
<line4 empty>

You will go somewhere new

I left lines 1 and 4 empty, named the game (tried with and without spaces) and put hell on it and then when I go to light it on fire, it burns for a second but no portal is made. I right clicked on the sign and it said gate match detected but still nothing.
Nevermind, it works now.

EDIT: Everyone should try the gate in front of PG, its awesome!

i got the portal working unfortunately it puts me under a lake of lava

Under? hah! Thats worse than mine, I'm over an ocean of lava. Took a while to get a bridge to the nearby land. It also reminded me that I hate ghasts.

Any luck with those sponges? I died in some place in the sea, and I can't access the chest now.

Use a pumpkin helmet, the plug in for them still works and gives you 10 times the breath (plus you can home back).

Croxis, I like the Nether, but it is very hard to traverse. There are a lot of Ghast and very little ground to stand on.

It takes a bit more work to be safe in the nether. I suggest lots of forts!

Use a pumpkin helmet, the plug in for them still works and gives you 10 times the breath (plus you can home back).

One problem: We don't have a pumpkin.

About the /home thing: I realize I can get back, but I can't get back in. That's not good, that's where my secret chest of valuables are!

An empty server....


The server has been fairly empty this past week and weekend, so I can only assume people are now bored of the status quo. I need feedback, is it general burn out, is something critical missing or broken, something I should add, should I start world 4?

I don't know, but I'm fine with the server. I try to play whenever I can (though I do singleplayer if something tragic in the server happens, like if I lose a bunch of stuff).

Yeah it's boring without other people on. A new world wouldn't kill me, but I don't know what others think.

Just been getting busier with college. I'm happy with the server and still have plans to keep slowly finishing my house and then landscape the rest of my yard and who knows what else.

There's still plenty of stuff to do on the server, it seems to me that a number of people have only just built a house (and maybe haven't even finished that) so I don't think a new map will really change anything.

tl;dr - If you're bored, build something cool.
