Went to play Civ today - got the newest patch / update

Now the game is crashing -- keeps giving me the message configuring game data

All my mods had to be downloaded / reloaded

Anyone else having a problem with this latest patch.

Was going to order "Brave new World" tonight but wondering if Steam is screwing up the base game, if I should wait until they get Civ 5 fixed first....

I'm not a mod expert, but it's probably your mods. Each mod will need to be updated to the latest patch version or they won't work.

Checked all my mods - none have the .dll extension so that does not seem to be the problem.

Have so far, selected a core of stable mods and run a new game - the core mods have been working - still can not open a saved game -- guess these has been lost.

Wish steam would post a warning that update would cause crash's (expecially with mods) and give the user an opportunity to say weither you want them installed or not.
