I'd like to see units in fortresses upgraded like they are in barracks. It is tedious to return you soldiers to a city to upgrade them. Agree?

I'd also like to see Radar Tower coverage represented like the Settler city radius is shown in blue for the settler.

It would be cool to have airbases on coasts act also as naval bases where you could upgrade both aircraft and ships.

How would an airbase upgrade Naval units... I don't follow you.

It would be cool, but ONLY in the fortress was connected by road to the resources needed to upgrade...

Nice idea. While we are at it, airfields could allow upgrading planes as well.

Agree ;)

Well, that's my insightful contribution for the day ;)

Seriously though, these are all good ideas. I also think colonies should act as Harbors and arports to transport resources (this has probably been mentioned before, though)

expanding from louis' idea, it would be neat if there was an option to add a worker to a colony expanding it into a pop 1 city, just like if you had used a settler

Good idea! Or, if they don't do this, at least make the colony function the same as a city ONLY in the respect that you cannot settle two next to each other...

This would keep the AI from absorbing my colony

Yes. colonies should have some sort of cultural boarder (I say cultural since that is what our boarders our considered). Of course, it would not expand.

Think of the square as a unified whole. In Charleston South Carolina, there is both a major navy base, plus an Air Force base.
Also, the Navy has many Naval Air Stations. But for gameplay purposes, I think that making such a coastal base would require 2 workers. You could then call it a Naval Air Station. :D
