Bombards "Can only defend" - but also attack?!

Hello,

so I built my first bombards after upgrading my trebuchets. The tooltip claims that bombards "Can only defend". And so do claim some of its upgraded versions too. Yet I can attack with them against units and cities.

Is it just a visual text bug or does "Can only defend" mean anything? Just curious about it.

EDIT: Ok I found out that you can "move" your trebuchet to attack enemy unit, but you can't "move" your bombard to attack enemy unit. Instead, bombard has ranged ability to attack it. I guess it means that mechanic. I kinda love these old games where they have written tooltips in this way, making kinda sense but in funny way.

Yes, vanilla Civ 4 doesn't have ranged attacks, unlike later Civ instalments. Ranged strikes are an RI-specific feature and "Can only defend" means the unit can't attack in the normal sense.
