------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok so anyone want to give me some ideas/suggestions?
Thanks :goodjob:

Personally, I find the second Continental Congress the most fascinating, expecially with the Declaration of Independence.

If your looking for the easiest topic, though, go for the beginning of the fighting of the Revoulution.

I would like to get a topic that is 'A' material ;) I'm going for a 4.0gpa in college :D

5 pages!?!? RESEARCH paper!?!?
Man I miss those days.

Either you want to go with the easiest topic, or the most interesting topic. What those are depends completely on your research habits.

Keep in mind "The Empire Strikes Back" is a great title for a research paper :D

Yes i know lol its the title of one of the sections in my history book :D
I can be a good researcher if i get a topic i like and get motivated to do it lol

The Fighting Begins

I can help you a bit with this Sun, this era is a favorite of mine.

Would you like this in the history forum?

You will get more input on the matter there.

'The Fighting Begins' falls under "Toward the Revolution" so the paper i think would be good to cover the 1st Continental Congress and The Last Days of the British Empire in America.
If you believe i can get atleast a 5 page report over these area's then yes help would be great! Also a internet link where i can find sources over the topic.
And yes, i forgot about the History Forum :( lol can u move it there please.

Ok thanks alot man! Unfortunately, my professor, says only 1 source can be from the Internet....that old fart. That doesn't mean i still can't read from all of those and compose my own paper :)
So all of the events would fall under 'The Fighting Begins' ? Good deal! :) Thanks chris!

Yes Sun, all of that is in "the fighting begins", there are many books on the subject, use the sites to get an idea about these events, and then go to the library to get a more detailed view of them.

well i need to get an Outline ready for thursday, neone want to help ;)

AoA, should i include 1st Continental Congress and the Last Days of the British Empire in America?
Cause if its going to be alot of battle's he doesn't want just like, US Won at Yorktown ect lol :-P

Hey AoA, i talked to my prof, and he said that it was still too broad, he said that he always thought the Invasion of Canada was very interesting ect....could u give me some more link to sites about the Invasion of Canada? thanks :)

A link would be difficult, but I can talk a little about it.

For a long time, many American leaders had cast worried glances toward Canada, the huge British possession to the North. Here was a perfect base for the King's men to send foraging Indians on raids, against isolated American towns and villages; here, the British could mobilize troops for an invasion into New York and New England.

Mindful of the dangers, Congress ordered General Philip Schuyler to invade Canada and take all the territory he could, "...if practicable..and not disagreeable to the Canadians" his orders read.

Schyler's health broke down and his place was taken by General Richard Montgomery, who believed the French Canadians would be sympathetic to the Americans in any blow against the Crown. He started for Montreal convinced the people would rise against the British. Instead, the Canadians remained loyal to King George and Montgomery was forced to fight hard before capturing Montreal on November 13, 1775.

Prior to this, General Washington felt a diversionary movement against Quebec would help Montgomery's campaign. He sent 1,300 volunteers from Cambridge in September, 1775 toward the distant goal--Quebec. These men were commanded by Colonel Benidict Arnold, who, starting from Fort Western in Maine, would lead them to the very gates of Quebec after a march of incredible hardships. Only 650 survived the long trek through mostly wilderness.

Montgomery joined Arnold in the final assault on Quebec but the effort was a debacle. The Americans attacked in a snowstorm, and blundered into a British ambush inside the city. Montgomery was killed and Arnold managed to stumble back with only a handful of survivors.

The dreams of America turning Canada into the Fourteenth colony were brutally smashed by British regulars and militia under the talented Guy Carleton, British Govener of Canada.

An excellent accout of this campaign can be found in "Battles of the Revolutionary war" by RJ Wood.

ok thanks, i was also wanting to find out like, why did the canadians side with the british, how were they feeling during this campaign...ect ect....i'll go check out that book though! Thanks!
Hmmmm gotta think of a thesis statement to turn into the prof. tomorrow

Canada pretty much felt that Britain was a better deal then America.

The Canadians wanted no part of the rebellion, it was incredibly unpopular in Canada.

Can you name some Magazines that i could find an article(s) about the Invasion of Canada.
Also hmmmmm do u have any specific text, internet sites that talk about why the canadians chose britain over america....what were their feelings ect....also i'm thinking about talking about Benedict Arnold.....

I would try the Military history site, and maybe the history channel's site also.

ok right now i have to think of how to break down the report......maybe
I can talk about Ticonderoga and Crown Point, since they were battles in the Invasion of Canada, well Ticonderoga was a battle that was fought while they were moving towards Cananda. So it counts...........input input
I have to go next monday to the University of Memphis's library because my small college's library has jack ****... i did find a book that has maps and text about every battle, campaign, war in the colonies history. So i found Ticonderoga in there....
