Usage of spies suggestion

Hi. I am new to civilization iv and dont know any programming / modding. I would like to suggest that spies could be used to sow discord btwn 2 civ. For eg, I want to ask America to declare war on Japan, but America refuses as they have good diplomatic ties. I can use spies to give a "-" diplomatic to america if successful.\, which may be enough for America to declare war. I hope this can be done. Thanks.
 
Great idea, it should make it easier to overcome the 'we don't like you enough yet' attitude of other leaders. I have no clue though if it can be achieved but it will definetly be a useful addition to features of the spy unit.
 
Also, if a spy is placed on a stack of military units, options will be available to slow down it's movements, or gain its line of sight for a couple of turns, etc. There are many possibilities for a spy unit besides just "steal plans" or "destroy improvements" or "slow down production"!
 
i have said this before in an other tread but here goes,

i think that the spies should be able to use propoganda, to turn the city to youre side.
 
I think their should be some spy promotions. Like being more succesful at intercepting enemy spy, sabotage, stealing. Because personally I find the spy a bit worthless in the game because of all the actions they can't do anymore.

I like this idea. It'd make me want to use them more.
 
I want to steal stuff! Stealing tech from other civilizations is one of THE historically most significant things a spy can do. I also think it would be great if they could sabatoge a military unit! They sabotage a tank and the owner doesn't know it. The moment the tank defends or attacks it immediately loses all health. Talk about a great unit...
