Using a Mod Component

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post, so forgive me if I am in the wrong place. I downloaded Lopez's Enhanced Foreign Advisor for Warlords. This is the first time I tried to use a MOD. I followed the directions to install, however when I get into the game the only thing that is displayed is the map and my Settler and Warrior. I see non of the borders around the map where you would see 4000BC, and how to toggle the map options, the buttons up top for change civics, milatary advisor, etc. Is this normal? When I installed the MOD I placed the entire folder (Enhanced Foreign Advisor) in the MOD directory and it has 5 files and one subfolder Assets. Thanks for your help.
