Am trying to play with mods, just like I would with all civ runs...but none of them work, even if I just try with one. Am installing via the inbuilt menu, and selecting to play with mods...but then it just errors! Fails to generate map or something

has anyone got mods working ok?

Thanks, Ant

ok slowly working it out, seems Dynamic worlds mod is causing grief...and you have to reload game to refresh that it's not there anymore...I think haha

EDIT: Scratch that, mods just do not like this game it seems lol

ok, am guessing it's as basic as the mods are not updated for latest version..at least that's all I can think of now

The game gets updated roughly every two weeks and that can break mods sometimes. A lot haven't been updated for ages. Avoid any mod with elaborate changes that hasn't been updated in the last month or so.

thanks, I should've thought of it to start with lol Just the game offered the mods so I thought they should work. Anyway, got archetype mod to work, and just using that for now...only just started the game so maybe should learn the basics first!! Like WTH, I can train my pet monkey to assassinate my heir!! haha so cool :)

Yeah sorry, that's probably my fault. I've been making updates and changes to the mod system over the last month and probably broke all the old mods. :)

I do aim to go through all the mods at some point, and if it doesn't work and hasn't been updated in a long time (and the author disappeared) disabling them. Unfortunately due to our update cycle mods are really volatile at the moment.

Oh, but I did update my Byzantine mod, so that should work (I've been using that as one of my testing mods for the changes).

Not a problem...I didn't realise just how much the base game was updated. Perfectly understandable about the mods then...and to be honest I loike the base game as it is for now :) After 25+ years of Civ, then some CK and EU - this is a refreshing game! A turn based game with a dynasty element!!
