V basic question

I am trying to work out the religion mechanics and it is very hard because there is zilch info on it and testing takes forever.

I was thinking of changing the religion values in globalparameters.xml to make it perhaps easier. Is there a quick way of doing this? I searched the forum for global parameters in various guises to no effect.

Alternatively is there anyone out there who knows how to capture the data?

Its OK I worked out through trial and error just changing in place works as long as it is a new game.
Anyone know how to debug the religious values still of interest.
