v1.61 -not showing which tech is completed

After updating to 1.61 I am no longer notified of which tech is completed. I just get to the screen where I chose what to research next. I cannot find any setting that should influence this in the opitons.

Is this a bug or do I have to change something in my ini files? I only use the autolog mod and nothn else

In the Civ4.ini config file is a line that reads "NoTechSplash". Check this is set to 0.

I have checked the whole harddisk for civ ini files and checked the two I found (two differend users)

I just restarted civ and tried again to see if it was just a one off fluke, but still I get no message. Its very annoying...

Is the TechSplash still affected by the 'nomovie' settings? Seem to remember that if the movies are switched off then the tech popup won't appear either. Not sure if this has been recified in a patch somewhere or it's in the game options rather than the ini file.

does this affects performance??
i mean will the setting of the NoTechSplash = 0 and having a popup telling us what tech do we just get increase waiting time between each turn???

Removing the autolog solved the problem. Go figure...
