Vandal Warlords' punishment

As most of you surely have noticed, an usurper known as Vandal Warlord has called for a rebellion against the Triad Coalition. As I do not believe this will cause the downfall of the Triad (as per this post, votes are 8 for Triad, 2 against, 1 blank), I would like to know what the people think is the most appropriate punishment for this depicable act?

Poll has been posted and is running for three days. Run-off poll will be run if there is no majority (50+%) for any option.

All of the negative sanctions are thought to last for as long as the Triad is in power.

Be aware that this is a public opinion poll, and not a decision poll!

As head of the Way of the Pure Order, I urge against any punishment. Non-Triad citizens should be allowed to voice their feelings and beliefs. Vandal Warlord may have taken it to the extreme but he should not be punished. However, next time anyone seeks to rebel, they might PM they Triad Council first, so a compromise may be made before it goes to far?

Vandal Warlord also called off the rebellion, which should count for something. No damage done.

I think this is a depicable act, just because he went against the government?, fine if you are going to do that you will want to give me the same punishment as him then, since i have opposed the government on certain issues

I fully support Vandal Warlord's actions, especially now because of this stupid irresponsible poll.

I am unsure of whether Diamoneye consulted with the rest of his faction before he made this poll, but I doubt that many were consulted. I, in the end, make the descision, and I have already decided. I am with you on this, as the rest of the government probably is.

I would, however, like to know whaat the Triad Council thins on this, as I will bend to them. Shattered will not be here for a while, so what do NZL and AluminumKnight think?

As you can read in the other post. I'd only declare Vandal an enemy of the state when the rebellion fails, as would happen in real life.
I believe everybody has the right to rebel against the people in charge, but not without consequences if the rebellion is lost. This way it becomes more of a gamble, and people that want to rebel in the future will have to be more sure of their case, not like this "Rogue rebel without a cause []" Vandal Warlord.

Edit: I haven't voted in this poll yet and will not do so in the future, because i share the sentiment of Rex rgis of Ter that Diamondeye did not consult with the rest of his faction.

As i see it, Vandal would be unable to get land ingame. I don't know if it's possible on this forum to deny Vandal Warlord's rights to vote in polls, but if so, that can be a part of the definition too.
Consider it like we'd put him in jail or something

Ofcourse this is out of my jurisdiction and i realise that i don't have final say in this matter. I just want to avoid amateuristic rebellions in the future.

As I see enemy of the State, he would be omitted from official naming of landmarks, cannot be given any land at all, exempt from all trade, banished from all state religion organizations, banned from joining Triad Factions and finally would be written into our official history as the Enemy of the State. It should have an effect, a realistic one, but not a ban from the game as such. The biggest impact is for the roleplaying part of the game.

Yet, he may influence events by posting threads, fomenting rebellion and voting on polls.

Please go ahead and make a discussion thread on this, an "enemy of the state" rule would be a good clause to add in as the outcome of the rebellion. Maybe its more of a faction rule, since various factions would like different kinds of punishments.

JoeHarker, the reason i despise Vandal is not that he has a different opinion than myself, but merely because he seeks to disrupt the order of our nation with his poorly stated opinions. That he causes this kind of attention to himself, then just gives it up does not serve to prove him any better. A man who that quickly abandons his word is not a man of Faith or Honor.

That is actually the worst bit about, becuase it sums up the triad in one swoop, we will listen to you, put when the time comes for deicison we may choose to ignor you entirely.

A system that caters for everyone is unreachable, especially when someone builds their goals around revolting. A systme that caters for the majority, having won a majority of the votes, already exists and is known as the Triad Coalition. And yes, suggesting a revolution and then abandoning the cause at once is disrupting to the work of the government.

I would wait to take the decision until I knew if I would go all the way. If not, I would not yell rebellion in size 7 letters.

I don't want it to rule that way, I think major suggestions (such as wars) should be polled. But remember, currently the Triad has a majority of the votes, so it makes decisions with the majority behind it. I would be very surprised if an issue was polled and the Triad acted different from the majority vote.
