1. Can they get a religion? I have over 500 faith and the first prophet has not been found.

2. Puppet states don't seem to get anything from my patahgon(sp). I picked boats get 1 hammer but my puppet city states don't get anything from this.

3. What happens when I conquer an enemy city?

4. How does luxury banning work?

5. Not really a question anyone could actually answer but why is it Venice doesn't seem to get a starting bias? I believe they greatly need this since they can only use 1 city.

I have a ton of more questions but I plan to do more reading so hopefully the rest will be answered that way.

Religion works just the same for Venice as everyone else.

Other cities get benefits from your Pantheon once the Pantheon spreads.

You can puppet or raze on conquering - and even cities being razed are puppets.

When a luxury is banned, it no longer provides any happiness.

Venice has a coastal starting bias, and takes priority over any other civ with such a bias.

Do I have really bad luck then? With almost 600 faith I expected to spawn a great prophet but never did. I'll try a new game later with venice to see if it happens again.

My Pantheon didn't spread at all. I have a city state right next to my capital. For the last 100 or so turns it has had a least 15 followers but the Pantheon never moved. My other city state is 9 blocks away. Does the Pantheon spreading have a range limit?

I would just point out, I always needed 600 faith for 1st great prophet to pop. That is why I take one with liberty tree. Lets you focus on military for the 1st part of the game. And with the way these barbs now seem to be, that seems like a better idea.

Since you have 600 faith I guess it is quite possible that in the meantime every available religion slot was taken. Did you check the religion screen to see if there are still religions that can be founded?

Wait, what speed are we talking about here?

1) Different game speeds have different thresholds for founding religions. Also, check to see if it is still possible to found a religion. There is a limit. (approx. 1/2 the number of civs +1)

2) Pantheons don't spread by themselves. Once you get a Pantheon, it is only in the Holy City and any additional cities you found after that turn. It can spread to your own cities as part of a religion, once it is founded.

3) Pantheons can't be spread outside your own borders, even as part of your religion, EXCEPT to civs who have the Religious Tolerance policy. And never to city-states.

I guess I should have said that eh? I only play Marathon speed games. I do not like the shortness of the other speeds, maks me feel cheated. I just place a lot of house rules on myself. IE no stealing workers, no demands, no gathering city states until mordern era. And all resource trades are for resources only.

I actually didn't know you need 600 faith in marathon, I never played that.

But the more important question here is what speed CrazyHeaven is playing at. Because I guess we just learned that it's quite relevant in order to ascertain whether the fact that he still didn't get a Prophet after 600 faith is normal or not.

Marathon does require a minimum of 600 Faith to make a Prophet. That's what I play at.

I was exploring the game so I was playing on quick. I noticed that others here are right, the reason why we haven't founded a religion is because there isn't any left. Somehow the AI took them all and fast. I kept seeing spamming of religions within the first 20 turns and that is normally when I see Pantheons.

Playing on prince where I thought the AI would be slower. I figured I'd make a ton of mistakes my first play through with a completely different type of civ such as Venice. It has allowed me explore a different side of the game as I normally played wide. I felt like I made so many mistakes I might want to start over but the beauty of playing on prince is that the mistakes haven't pushed me behind and actually has kept the game interesting. If I were doing everything right my map- AI rating would have been boring and my trade routes not as good since I'd be so far ahead.

technically it has nothing to do with number of civs, but map size.
although that formula does work for Default # of civs on the map size.

Once a pantheon is part of a religion, it spreads anywhere that religion spreads...(like any beliefs, it only has effect if the religion it is part of is majority religion... OR the special exception for religious tolerance.
