I am playing the Middle Ages conquest and am unsure of how the victory points work. Can someone explain how they are calculated, or point me to an article that gives the details? It would be handy for other conquests too.

In my current game (as Sweden) I have eliminated Norway, Denmark and England and have 16,385 victory points made up of: Unit kill 5700, Advances 685 and Conquest 10,000. I also have captured one relic that I know will net me 10,000 pts if I can get it to Jerusalem.

I don't think there's any article giving specifics. Wonders will give you some VP's but the main ones are the relic (also gives gold) and conques/Unit kill. Controlling Jerusalem gives 15 VP's per turn. As Sweden I usually go after Germany and grab their relic. If you are able to get 2 relics and Jerusalem it doesn't take long to win. Norway and Denmark make nice cities with minimal corruption but the big VP's are from the Europeans and their relics.

Thanks. I had to fight another war for some extra Victory Points, then sent my Longships to Jerusalem and returned the relic to win the game.

It turns out my invasion of England was badly planned. I took the three royal towns first and that auto-razed the rest. However although I was credited with bonus unit kill Victory Points for all the English units, I didn't get any conquest points for the towns that disappeared. It would have been better to leave one king alive while I took out all the other English towns first to maximise the points available.

In the beginning settle and build workers like crazy i got a score of 631000 as the germans (HRE and KT) by eliminating burgundy, maygars, poland, france (just paris) and england (chippenham and london). As soon as I was done with one war i quickly rebuilt and launched another assault. at this point I had 4 armies of knights so I loaded about 10 galleys full of knights with my 4 relics and headed towards jerusalem. at this point the turks declared war on me with thier assassins, but it was a little too late jerusalem and the game was mine!

When you start one of the Conquests there is some explanations as to what scores how. Here, for Napoleonic Europe for example:
