Legend of Zelda series then. Honestly I don't have any idea. Windwaker for game cube. Ocarina of time for N64. Link to the past for SNES?

Hint 3: As with many games this game has different enemies you must defeat in order to win. As with most characters these ones have names. The majority of enemies in this game series (within the larger franchise) share similar naming convention. A single word describing what abilities they have, follow by the animal (in some cases plant) they resemble. For instance "Torpedo Stork" would be the type of enemy name found in these games, though that isn't an actual character that has appeared in any of the games.

Hint 4: Somebody has hit at the franchise in one their posts, but not the specific game nor the series within the franchise. This series this game from will be on it's 8th game (well,9th if you consider one outside the normal number system) making it the largest series in the franchise.

I can't be arsed to google for every single game of dragon quest series to confirm my suspicions that the game indeed is from this series since there's so many of them. And surprisingly I still haven't got a clue from which one of them the music is from since I haven't heard music from any game of the series. Enemies in dragon quest have been named like mentioned in hint 3. So if someone else has the patience to google through every single Dragon quest then I welcome you. I'm tired.

Finding the correct game within the series in a completly different matter, of course...
Assuming you are right about it being Dragon Quest, i'd guess it is Dragon Quest VIII.
8th game in the series (obviously) and the first one for the PS2.

I really should go out and buy the X series. I like the original Megaman games, but I have never played the ones with X.

Well, they recently released the Megman X collection. On gamecube/PS2 if you have either of those. It's like $30 for 1-7.

MegamanX 1-3 are awesome, 4 is ok, I heard 5 is mediocre, 6 is teh suxxorx, 7 is out there, and 8 is a slow recovery towards the greatness of 1-3

I liked Megaman Legends/64 myself, I usually will like a game though as long as its not Quest 64 *shudders*
