I am not sure but if I "discover" in a hut an ancient wisdom scroll (advance which i haven't got - not researchng it in that moment) my number of turns to discover sth is increasing. Especially at first turns of game (4000 BC - 2500 BC; later maybe too but I don't know).

yes,The beaker count is culminative.The more you get the more it costs.This includes techs from huts or trading.The only exception is starting techs.

It means, the more techs you get, regardless of how you get them, the following tech you research will require more beakers to discover. Get it?

Techs become harder and harder to discover, unless you keep increasing that beaker count.
