Hi all,

I have had Alpha Centauri & Alien Crossfire installed on my PC for at least 3 years. It has been updated & has always played OK.

I have had AVG anti-virus free edition installed for 6 or more months, l run a complete PC check every week, no virus's have been detected until today.

The virus is listed as:

Filename TERRANX.lCD, virus identified as Obfustat.QLN

My anti-virus has deleted this file to the virus vault.

I tried to play the game after but it would not load up.

Does anyone know what this file is & if it is indeed a virus.

Can anyone help

I don't know what this file does, but it is needed to play the game. I installed both games on my XP Pro system and the TERRANX.ICD file gave an error. I tried all the tips that I knew and what I could find on the forum and nothing worked. I did a Google search and found a forum talking about the same problem. The solution for my problem was to move the game folder from C:/Program Files to C:/ I now can play both games.

So TERRANX.ICD is not a virus and is a vital component of the game.

If you Google on Obfustat (without the QLN), you'll find lots of others with similar problems. This appears to be a "false positive". It may have already been fixed by a subsequent update to AVG. Try updating your copy and see if that helps.
