Vista Question

My brand new computer is coming in the mail today. I'm going to hook it up and download ROM so I can finally play something bigger than a standard map size . The problem is that it comes w/ Windows Vista. In the past, here and there, I have read about vista problems w/ this mod. What kind of problems can I expect and how can I get around them. There are several mods for this mod but I was going to start off downloading 2.63 WOC Lite and the Better Gameplay mod w/ Terraforming and that was it. So to you all you vista users what kind of problems should I expect so i'm prepared for them?

Game crash when loading start.
Better Gameplay 1.2 mod Jooyo for RoM 2.63 don't work on vista.

I play on a Vista 32-bit, and other than that which is stated above, everything works fine for me.

I just got vista 64 bit ultimate today. But better gameplay works fine for you civ fuehrer on 32 bit, that is great. Now if only my friend would return my discs maybe I can play civ on my new comp.

That's not what I meant to say if that's how it came across.
Everything works fine except the better gameplay mod.

i'm playing 2.62 on a windows 7 64bit... works fine, i don't think there should be any problems on your vista! enjoy ROM when you get it to work ;-)

Ya, it took me like three days to figure out how to install BTS for my new computer. Tried everything short of reformmating and all it end up being was that the disc was dirty . I downloaded 2.63 WOC Lite and it worked fine. Played through one game and got no crashes on a huge map. What I haven't tried is Better Gameplay 1.2 mod from Jooyo which has terraforming and I really want to play that. I heard it didn't work on Vista from another post. Have you tried that one on your machine?
