Well, actually I have more than one question...Anyway here it is. First of all, I was wondering if anyone else has been trying to play direct IP games while using Skype or Google Talk or whatever to do voice chat during the game. On my end it works quite fine but on my friend's end Skype causes a fatal error when entering the Civ4 game and other voice chat programs like Google talk just stop working as soon as he is done loading inside the multiplayer game. If he quits civ4 everything is fine. I figure this has to do with some audio conflicts or something, So I got him to make sure he has the latest DirectX, found him the latest driver from Realtek for the ALC650, the latest mb drivers in general and to update his softwares. No change at all, 5-10 sec after he joins the game we lose connection for the voice chat. Not quite sure what else to do here really.

I thought of something that could be the solution or maybe even the cause of the conflict.. It looks in the audio config as if Civ4 has built in voice chat software? Though I havent seen anything about it on the forums here nor on Civ4's website. The reason that made me think it has built in voice chat is that little box you can check in the Audio config that says something like 'Enable voice chat'. I figure it has to do with duh, voice chat. But I tried it along with my friend, we checked the box and we connected on a direct IP game which I hosted and well..we didnt get any sort of voice com either.. Is it due to our present problem with voice chat? Or is it due to something we dont know or are doing wrong?

(I suppose I might get my answers today when Im getting back my game with my manual. I guess there might be some info about voice chat in there. I loaned it to a friend yesterday to initiate him to civilization)
