Voice Communication Bugs

OK, so I've been having lots of troubles with voice communication as it relates to BtS. I originally started with TeamSpeak RC2 (my standard choice for voice comm). Works great up until the point that I get in BtS. It works when I ALT-TAB out, but as soon as BtS gets focus again, I can hear others but they can't hear me. The first time this happened, I installed and tried Roger Wilco, and that ended up working. However, the latest time, I experienced the same issue (no outgoing voice comm when BtS has focus). We attempted to get the in-game voice comm working, but that never seemed to be successful either.

I'm almost certain that this is somehow related to the fact that I'm running Vista (32-bit Home Premium). Others on XP don't seem to be affected. More tellingly, however, vanilla Civ4 does not have this bug! When I encountered this in BtS, I immediately checked vanilla, and sure enough, it worked like it always did.

Anybody else encounter this? Any suggestions?

Well, if it is Vista I have no help to offer since I'm using XP. :(

But Skype runs quite fine for me while in BtS. Maybe you give that a try. :) Else it might really be Vista.

A little more info...

I've found that I can get TS to work in-game, but only if I am currently transmitting (TS is accessing the mic device) when BtS gets focus. So basically I just hit my push-to-talk key, then click back in the task bar to refocus BtS. At least there's a workaround, but it's still a bug that should be fixed. It strikes me as odd that something with the "Games for Windows" label would work worse in Vista than vanilla civ... :P
