I have been playing as China and started on a continent (gotta love that pangea setting) with Egypt but they are only remembered by a few "oddly named" Chinese cities.:mischief: i have been learning to work in Democracy and it is really nice on a lot of levels.

When I discovered the other continent, I managed to get a couple of cities on some open 5-tile slots and then I managed a couple more and so on. After my efforts, I had turned Stuttgart and created 5 of my own so I had 6 cities. Because I got Magellans, i have a direct 1 turn route (transport) between my continent and the other so I can get stuff over there and I have sent tons and tons of stuff over from the time I was sending galleys with spare swordsmen. But I am limited in getting stuff there

Then My dear MPP partner Russia attacked the day after they signed the new treaty... of course they did

So I signed Greece and Germany to an MA and after 12 (?I think 12) turns of war, we managed to wipe Russian off the map. Germany and I had an ROP and it sure made it easier to win the war against Russia. In addition to the cities I took, I also managed to plant a couple new cities as well to snag some resources. I took and then gifted two cities... Ephesus to Greece and Odessa to the Germans.

Now, after 12 turns of war, my democratic people were in shut down mode pretty much. War Weariness was a problem for them but to be honest it was late (3:45 am) and my personal War Weariness had bottomed out as well.

About 3 turns into Peace, Germany pulled a sneak attack. (well they declared just as all their troops were leaving my Russian lands - that should have told me something right there.)

I do not want to go back to war right now. My cities are poorly defended because I expanded so quickly and it is that 'other' continent.

I did a save at the end of the war but after the attack, I just shut the whole thing off without a save and quite frankly I would abandon the game rather than fight a long war with Germany. I don't like war - i can do it but I don't like it.

I was thinking of gifting Germany a couple of cities after the close of the war but I did not get a chance to do it... I was brain dead at the time. My question, and I do have one... is: Are the Germans likely to be satisfied if I gift them two or 3 more cities?

It was funny, when I took Moscow in a last minute realization that I had the units to take it rather than just providing air and artillery cover to the Germans, I just knew that I had done something wrong. I should have let them take Moscow...

Because I took so many cities, I was stretched really thinly for defense. I had some cities defended by swords:eek:

I will attach the save made at the end of the war in 1670. if anyone does use the save I have to mention that I have the "Less Corrupt MOD" in play so buildings and stuff that don't make sense normally work in my game because it actually frees up resources.

I didn't think to go back and get a screenie but I could do that at the end of the war phase.

Oh I was also trying to import a new leaderhead for China but it didn't work so I was getting 2 Catherines in the game. China and Russia both got her:lol:

One other point. I just discovered that I don't have the auto save anymore because I was trying to fix my Empress Wu problem and I started another game to test my fix. (which was not  a fix of course)

I am not sure if it is possible to predict what the AI would do if you gifted Germany additional cities, but my guess would be that you would still be attacked within a turn or two. My experience with AI is that it will do exactly what you do not want it to. I gave up playing just one ally in the War in the Pacific scenario because the AI, who is theoritically in a locked alliance with me, would not trade anything or assist in any way. Now I play two or three in a hot seat set up just to make things work.

By the way, I too modify the building stats to cut down on corruption and make my citizens a bit happier.

I doubt they will even talk to for at least a half dozen turns and why would you think you could trust them to keep any deals?
