Okay people (yay, second post!), I would be appriciate it if you guys could explain this to me... I has searching for components for my new computer (I'm a sad, poor looser, my computer is an 8 year old AMD K6 ^_^) and I found this barebone system... notice anything strange? There is a good chance that I'm insane, but I would think that 754 CPU fan wouldn't work on a 939 Processor...
Help me Obi-won, you are my only hope!
<_< >_> Oh, and do you guys think this is a good buy, and if so, what should I get to go with it? ;)

So, why don't you send the shop an email with this question? Just tell them that you're interested in buying this computer but have some second thoughts because of the fan, especially since they put this on their page:
"VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING OUR RETURN POLICY ON CPU'S: Please note that all processors may be returned only for defective exchange. You must purchase a compatible heatsink and fan on the same order as the processor in order to preserve your warranty or exchange privilege. We are not able to accept returns for refunds on processors under any circumstances. All processors will be inspected and tested upon return and any damage caused by poor packaging, overclocking, or other tampering with the processor will be cause for the return to be refused, and exchange denied."

Make sure you get written that this fan is compatible with this CPU and you should be fine.

It's not a bad choice, but neither is it particularly great...
Are you planning on overclocking? I'm going to assume that you aren't in the following recommendations, simply because you haven't mentioned it. And are you definately looking for a barebones system, or are you willing to put the parts together yourself?

Socket 939 is a great way to go right now, I just ordered the pieces for a new rig myself... however if your current computer is 8 years old, chances are you'll be getting a new video card. If that's the case, you're better off getting a motherboard that supports pci-express. Pci-express is technically superior, and although most users won't notice any performance difference, prices on a lot of pci-e cards are already lower than their agp counterparts.

Do you really need such a fast cpu? You could save quite a bit of money by going for something from the 3000+ to the 3500+, and you wouldn't be sacrificing much performance that way.

The RAM and PSU are nothing special in that system. Higher speed/low latency RAM doesn't matter all that much unless you're overclocking, but buying cheap PSU's is one of the largest mistakes people make when buying/building computers, they can cause all kinds of problems which are often attributed to other parts. Just keep that in mind when choosing what to buy.
