Man that is a load of crap! It wouldnt even be so bad if it wasnt for the counless RIP OFFs for "Expansions" that have been brought out for the price of a full game. And there are people who put 3 titles with "The Sims" on it in the top 10 every week month! Who are these people! :p Its the biggest sham since EA's Fifa Soccer games, that manage to come out twice yearly somehow!

Yeah, I'll rant too: all my friends say its great, but it really is terrible. Ooh, you can control people! The funniest thing I've seen is "The Simmer Sims" where you control someone who is playing Sims...:lol:

And there are what, 12 expansion packs? Talk about cash cow...:rolleyes:

Just rang my local EB store (in Tuggeranong for those close by) and as far as they know the release date for Australia is "early November".

I guess they'll be getting another phone call at 9:01am on Nov 1st, then 9:01am Nov 4th, then....

It's tough, man. I just replaced my cracked Civ3 with a new copy yesterday, and the box actually said "also available: Play the World." I went and insisted at the counter that I wanted the also available product. They mocked me and said I would just have to wait.

Bastards.

PS I guess there will be a "North American Advantage;" I expect to be kick-ass veteran at MP by the time some of you are just moving your first Celtic swordsman. :D We will have to balance MP games out by saying "two newbie europeans, two north americans..."

Blame Infogrames, not Firaxis. They are responsible for distribution.

I pre-ordered my copy of PTW and shipped it to my home instead of my dorm because it would have ruined my life. Now i regret it and i wish i ruined my life. Stupid life:mad:

What worries me is the stories from some of the Seppos that their local store hasn't even heard of the game. Now I'm not saying they should now all the ins and outs of PTW, or even like it, but they should know about it.

If I had a store selling widgets, for example, and a new line was being released that allowed people with existing widgets to get more from them, I should know about it, even if I decided to make the decision not to stock them.

Anyway, as [GR]Ishtari says, until later this month all we can do on this side of the globe is to wish we were able to experience the bugs you guys have!!

Last game I wanted on release was delayed for two months, one month at a time, so if we see PTW here before Xmas I'll be amazed and astounded. Those EB monkeys [k]no[w] nothing about release dates unfortunately. :(
 
i pre-ordered on eb and got my copy on the 30th of Oct. so i guess the're not having any probs. i mean my little bro had to tell me it came in because i shipped it home.:mad: But it still got there
 
Thats true.. if ya managering a store... you gotta be in the know about the goods ya selling. my advice.. if they talk rubbish the frist time, don't go back.. which reminds me of the time when i was going to open a putor and game hire store and was talking to a land agent. about renting a shop.. the bastard had nothing in front of him and tryed to put one over me by protending, that he just read the info on the shop i was interested in. and try to tell me it was 175 NZ$ a week.. that was it.. what a joker. i was gonna laugh in his face.
but just said i would think about it and went. ( im a artist, nothin visual gets pass these eyes)
 
Anyone know of any way to get PTW in the UK before the 22nd Nov?

Amazon.com have that evil no-we-won't-ship-it-abroad thing going at the moment...

I have read a couple of stories in this forum somewhere about walmart. They have a place on the shelf with a price for PTW but no boxes. I went to walmart -- same story, a price and a space on the shelf but no boxes. I asked when it would be coming. They said that the guy who brings software will bring it when he brings it. When? No clue.
