Walled cities?

How does the game decide when to replace the ordinary city graphics with the walled city graphics?

Does it do so whenever you construct an improvement that gives a defensive bonus?

When you put the flag "Increse City Defense by 50%" on an improvement if that improvement is then built the city is walled till it out grows the walls.

It seems to be any improvement with a high def. bonus triggers it.

Wrongster. Look at the attached file, the item that is circled in red is what effects the wall graphic and it dosen't matter how higher the defense is.

Why doesn't anyone use the help file or experimetn like I did?

I actually meant any improvement with a high defence as opposed to none...
but if it's that important to be right - go ahead!
