War for crown

Story: This is unrealistic scenario in central Europe (especcialy in Bohemia) in Middle Ages. Conflicts around Bohemia dont let Bohemian voivods cold. After Bohemian king´s death they refused vote new king of Bohemia and devided to 9 independent voivodships. But its the end? Small voivodships havent chance againist raising Bavorian and Saxon cultural and military power, againist wild Magyars from the East or military fomenters from Silesia and cultural pushers in Austria. Only dominance of one voivod may elevate new Bohemian king...

Version: Civilization III:Conquests

Modifications and using map for other scenarios: allowed

File size: about 0,06 Mb ;)

Language: English (very bad)

Map: Central Europe - Bohemia

Civilizations:
Playable:
West Bohemia - economically powerful, easy way to rich neigbours
North Bohemia - may have problems when will has bad realtions with Saxony
East Bohemia - good defence and economy
South Bohemia - very strong economy and military
Middle Bohemia - with Prague most culturaly Bohemian nation, military and economicly leading, but less cities
South Moravia - econimically very good but near dangerous Hungary
North Moravia - good culture
Moravian Silesia - weakest and hardest to play, but easy way to Silesia
Highland - in middle point in map, only neigbours from Bohemia and Moravia

Opponents(non-playable):
Hungary - weak but with very strong potential
Bavoria - strongest in this scenario, leading in all
Silesian Voidoship - most powerful from Poland
Saxony - leading resistance againist Bavoria and helping small inependent Polish voidoships
Lower Austria,Upper Austria - both have ecomically and cultural values but figting between
Opolo Voidoship,Lodz Voidoship,Smallypoland,Lubusz Voidoship-small voidoships fighting againist Silesian

Please write some suggestions and opinions. This scenario may have other, better versions. Blame me, wig me, I wanted any reactions.

Sorry for my English.

downloading... this was the first scenario to get me excited enough to comment in a long time, I'll edit this post later to add a review! :mischief:

One of the first things I noticed in the editor, was a distinct lack of luxury goods. So the advantage to West Bohemia is gone, as it has nothing to GIVE to its "rich neighbor". Although playing as Hungary interested me, I decided to play as Middle Bohemia.

Clicking on Middle Bohemia I start the game, and settle in to wait. However I was pleasantly surprised by the waiting time of about 10 seconds. Quickly glancing around at the map, I noticed a random railroad track, near a river between Leipzig and Chemnitz.

I started against West Bohemia, and moved a large portion of my military there, with the Saxons and Bovorians as my allies. Something around 20 turns later I took Pizen/Plzen (can't really see if that is a capital I or an L). At first I just threw bodies at it, but 2 point increase from normal to veteran really threw me off. However, after a little time I learned to love it.

Really, overall this is an incredably balanced scenario, although South Bohemia seems almost too powerful, even stronger than Bavoria!

So I'd say fix the railroad (or dont, its so minor I just fixed it myself), add some luxury goods to trade, and wait until you get more reviews.

Very Good Work!

Thanks for your report. I have edited some resourses and overlays. Railroads are from map of Czechoslovakia, maybe somewhere are other :crazyeye: . I was playing also for Middle Bohemia. I took all South but after refuse demands of Hungary start war with Magyars. My 3 armies(yes I have 3 leaders now) started long journey to Hungary. But Silesian Voidoship crushed too quick and after some turns my lighty defence must defending againist many units from Saxony and Poland, They destroyed or captured some my cities

Wow what a game...

I was doing so well, but then the Saxons, my best friends, attacked me (mutual protection pact with Bavoria by mistake). Eventually everyone but East Bohemia and Bavoria were at war with me.

My "Western" empire (old west bohemia) was conquered. I eventually gave all my cities but Prague to Bavoria in exchange for a new mutual protection pact. I'm going to ride out the rest of the game, and try to hurt the Saxons for their betrayal, but it looks like I'm done...

BTW I highly recomend NOT playing this scenario on Diety... Seeing stacks of 20 Crusadors approaching your city is NOT a good feeling.

However I still do recommend playing this scenario, it's good fun. I think I'll try the Saxons next.

Yeah I made wild wars between all so wars with non Bohemians nations is not good idea without strong defence:D . Maybe in future I will add some graphics and units, but its scenario especially for fun, not for perfect ;)

And Plzen on map is in Czech Plzeň and in German Pilsen. Famous beer Pilsner Urquel is from this city and also Škoda Auto has there one of the two factories, other is in Mladá Boleslav;)

Other to boost interest
Prague - I think you know ;)
South Moravia - center of the wine production with second city in CZE
East Bohemia - center of textile production, now decreasing
West Bohemia - Now with quality roads and modern factories
South Bohemia - wealthiest region in CZE after Prague
Olomouc - in history had Archbishopric
Ostrava - boost with coal and factories especcialy in 20 century, now decreasing
Kutná hora - in far history royal city, about 30 percents production of Silver in World was there, now small city

I downloaded your scenario, and it's very interesting - I chose South Moravia. They seemed to be more of a defensive power, and so I decided to fortify all my Pikemen and build some culture. But then something weird happened!

One by one, all the other civs were 'destroyed': each turn, some civs just disappeared for no reason! Within five turns I had won, even though I had done practically nothing! This could not have been a military attack - too many civs disappeared at once. So what happened!?

Btw, it was very well set out - it was interesting to see a scenario based entirely on Central European powers! :goodjob:

Ok Redy, there is something seriously wrong with your scenario!

I tried it again, this time with Middle Bohemia (Prague etc). After one turn, civs started to disappear!

Here is the map after just one turn :

Ok I downloaded the new version, but still things are going wrong!

I chose Moravian Silesia. For some reason, I had not encountered any other civs, even though the map was fully revealed. I had a scout, but what was the point - I could see the whole map!

Then I decided to get rid of the scout, so I disbanded him. Immediately, all of my cities were destroyed at once, and I "suffered an embarrassing Victory Point defeat at a play time of 1 minute"!?!?!

What is going on!?

I really dont know why?
Elimination isnt, victory point scoring is OK,conquest and domination also, I played about 25 turns...

It may be just my PC, but I hope not since it's quite new!

Maybe we should wait to see if anyone else has this problem... if not, it's probably my computer.

Lord Marlboro, William GBTW thanks you. I have many things in my mind, but this year I have leaving examination. Maybe I will make some other Czech or Middle Europe scenario related....
