Warlords - brutal static noise out of nowhere

Game works perfect and all except one thing, there are random spikes of static noise coming out of my speakers in VERY loud volume, scares the **** out of me every time. Anyone recognize this or know what it might be?

I get the exact same thing, there have been a couple of threads already about this, but nobody knows what to do.
