Warlords -Crashes when loading

Here's what happens.

1. Loads the game.
2. Select "Warlords Scenario" or "Play a Scenario".
3. Select a specific scenario (tried several).
4. Games goes to desktop and then shows "loading".
5. During loading, crashes to desktop and I get a generic Windows error message: "Sid Meier's Civilization 4: Warlords has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience . . ."

Tried reinstalling both games. Deleting .ini files. Defragging. Disk cleanup.

In case anyone else had this problem, here's what finally fixed this bug:

Uninstalled Earthlink Total Access, and uninstalled Earthlink Protection Center.
