Warlords v2.08: have lost option to retire

1st post, hoping that I'm using correct protocols...

In my most recent game, some time after 1500 AD, when I go to the option menu, the option to "retire" no longer appears. Nor does the keyboard shortcut of alt-Q do anything.

As far as I know, retiring is the only way to enter a score on the Hall of Fame scoreboard. I like to record interim scores on the board as a way to compare progress between various.

I've gone through the warlords bug topics, but haven't seen this problem mentioned.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and more importantly, does anyone else have a solution?

The retire option will be gone if you continue playing from an already retired game.
You will also be unable to record any victory in the game if you have already retired.
(Only one retire/victory is possible in the same game.. unless you go back to an earlier save from before the retire)

Gyathaar, thanks for your comment. However, I've been playing Warlords for months, and this is the first time that this situation has happened. In other words, prior to this most recent episode, I have *always* been able to retire from a game one night, resume the same game in the future, play more, and retire...ad infinitum.
